BAKERY STYLE APPLE PIE CINNAMON ROLLS

What would you get if Cinnamon Rolls and Apple Pie had a baby?!

MIX, MIX, MIX

the coconut sugar & cinnamon. Remove 4 tbsp then set the rest aside

PEEL, PEEL, PEEL

core and dice the apples into really small pieces

SAUTÉE, SAUTÉE, SAUTÉE 

the apples in a skillet with butter & water. Add the 4 reserved tbsp of sugar mixture. Cook a few minutes, until tender.

MIX, MIX, MIX

the flour, yeast and salt in the bowl of a stand mixer (using a dough hook) - you can do this by hand as well

ADD, ADD, ADD

the water, milk, maple syrup & oil and stir until well combined

ADD, ADD, ADD

more flour, a bit at a time, until a soft dough forms. Cover and rest for 5 mins

ROLL, ROLL, ROLL

the dough out on a lightly floured surface into as good as a rectangle shape as you can get it

SPREAD, SPREAD, SPREAD

the butter out evenly over the dough

SPREAD, SPREAD, SPREAD

the remaining sugar mixture and the cooked, cooled apples over top

ROLL, ROLL, ROLL

the dough into as tight of a log as you can get it

CUT, CUT, CUT

it into 12 even pieces (I use dental floss for this)

LINE, LINE, LINE

'em up on a parchment lined baking sheet, cover & let rise for 30 minutes

BAKE, BAKE, BAKE

in a 350° oven for 25-35 minutes

MAKE THE FROSTING

by blending the cream cheese, butter, maple syrup, vanilla and cinnamon in a bowl

FROST, FROST, FROST

the slightly cooled rolls generously with the cinnamon cream cheese frosting

I wish you could smell these Apple Pie Cinnamon Rolls right now.
