TRADITIONAL  IRISH SODA BREAD

Such an easy (and delish!) bread recipe.

SIFT, SIFT, SIFT

the flour, baking soda and baking powder into a large bowl

MAKE, MAKE, MAKE

a well in the center then pour in the buttermilk. mix the ingredients together until they form a soft dough. 

TURN, TURN, TURN

it out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it gently for a minute or two until it comes together smoothly.

SCORE, SCORE, SCORE

a deep cross into the top of the loaf then transfer it to a parchment lined baking sheet

BAKE, BAKE, BAKE

for 15 minutes at 425°F, then reduce the temperature to 400°F and continue baking for another 25-30 minutes
