HOMEMADE SUN-DRIED TOMATOES

My parent's famous recipe that is over 20 years old!

HALVE, HALVE, HALVE

the tomatoes. Use roma or san marzano for best results.

BAKE, BAKE, BAKE

for 2-3 hours on the lowest rack on the lowest setting in the oven. Optional step but highly recommended!

LINE 'EM UP

in the dehydrator trays being careful not to overlap or overcrowd

DEHYDRATE, DEHYDRATE, DEHYDRATE

for 8-13 hours (time will depend on several factors)

SEASON, SEASON, SEASON

with fresh chopped garlic, dried oregano & salt and mix until well combined

ADD, ADD, ADD

the seasoned tomatoes to a jar with olive oil, using a pestle to pack them in tightly

ADD, ADD, ADD

a circular piece of parchment paper to the top then put the sealing lid on. Leave it this way for about a week.

SEAL, SEAL, SEAL

the jar with the ring band then store long term!

They last forever and they freeze well!
