EASY HOMEMADE EGGNOG

Nothing beats homemade. Am I right?!

WHISK, WHISK, WHISK

half the sugar into the egg yolks until it turns pale in colour and slightly thickens

HEAT, HEAT, HEAT

the milk, cream and remaining sugar in a pot on medium heat until simmering, stirring constantly

ADD, ADD, ADD

the warm milk mixture to the egg mixture, whisking constantly to prevent curdling

ADD, ADD, ADD

it back to the pot and cook it on medium low heat until thickened (coats the back of a wooden spoon) about 5-10 minutes. Keep stirring!

ADD, ADD, ADD

the vanilla extract and spices and stir until combined

STRAIN, STRAIN, STRAIN

the eggnog into a fine mesh strainer over a bowl to remove any big spice or egg particles

CHILL, CHILL, CHILL

the eggnog in the fridge for at least 4 hours but up to over night. Stir before serving!
