A creamy pumpkin spice martini made with vodka, pumpkin spice syrup, Irish cream, and warm spices. Smooth, festive, and perfect for fall cocktail hour!
If using a cinnamon sugar rim, rub a lemon or orange wedge around the rim of a martini glass, then dip it into cinnamon sugar.
Add the vodka, pumpkin spice syrup, Irish cream, half-and-half or heavy cream, and pumpkin pie spice to a cocktail shaker. Fill generously with ice.
Shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds, or until the shaker is very cold and the cocktail is well chilled.
Strain the cocktail into the prepared martini glass.
Top with whipped cream and a light sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice or nutmeg, or garnish with a cinnamon stick. Serve immediately.
Notes
Regular or vanilla vodka both work: Vanilla vodka adds extra sweetness and gives the cocktail even more of a pumpkin pie feel.Choose your cream: Heavy cream makes the martini richer and more decadent, while half-and-half gives you a slightly lighter finish.Watch the syrup sweetness: Pumpkin spice syrups vary by brand, so adjust the amount slightly if yours is especially sweet or strongly flavoured.Chill your glass: In proper bartender fashion, pop your martini glass in the freezer for 15 to 20 minutes before serving to help keep your cocktail extra cold.Make cinnamon sugar easily: Mix equal parts ground cinnamon and granulated sugar for the optional rim.Prepping for a party? Combine the liquid ingredients ahead and refrigerate, but wait to shake with ice until just before serving.Don't store the finished cocktail: It's best freshly shaken. Leftover pre-mixed cocktail can be kept covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours, then shaken with fresh ice before serving.
