Notes
Use fresh orange juice for the brightest flavour. Bottled juice won't taste quite as fresh.Chill your ingredients before mixing so the cocktail stays cold and refreshing without melting too much ice.Add the sparkling water last and stir gently to keep the bubbles light and fizzy.Taste before serving. If you prefer a sweeter cocktail, use cranberry juice cocktail or add a splash of simple syrup.Serve immediately. This cocktail is best enjoyed fresh while it's cold and bubbly. Leftovers will lose their fizz over time. The sweetness of this cocktail will vary depending on the type of cranberry juice you use. If you're using a tart 100% cranberry juice, add the optional simple syrup to balance the flavours. If you're using a sweetened cranberry juice cocktail, you may not need it. Taste and adjust to your preference. To make simple syrup: Stir together equal parts sugar and hot water until the sugar dissolves. Let cool before using. Alternatively, simmer equal parts sugar and water until dissolved, then cool completely before storing in the fridge.
