BRISKET OF BEEF SANDWICH

Nothing beats tender shredded brisket piled high on a bun with melted cheese and crunchy coleslaw. These Brisket of Beef Sandwiches are perfect for parties or game days and my absolute all time favourite way to use up leftover brisket!

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Slice or shred the brisket, as desired.
    bowl of shredded brisket
  • Toast the buns under a broiler for a minute or two, careful to keep an eye so they don't burn.
  • To the bottom bun, add the brisket, onions, a splash of jus, and the cheese (in that order). Remove the top bun that's already toasted and return to the broiler for a few minutes or until the cheese is nice and melted over the onions and brisket.
3 bottom buns loaded with brisket and cheese next to a top bun on a parchment lined baking sheet
  • Pile high with creamy coleslaw. Close with the top bun. Enjoy!

Notes

Fresh or leftover brisket work great in this recipe. I used my fall apart tender slow cooker beef brisket. However, my Instant pot brisket would also work great!
The caramelized onions and au jus come from my slow cooker beef brisket recipe mentioned above. They're basically just the sauce/gravy/liquid at the bottom of the crock pot. However, if you didn't use my slow cooker method for cooking brisket and therefore, don't have either one, feel free to omit them or caramelize your own onions in some beef broth on the stove.
There are no real quantities for this recipe for brisket sandwiches as that all depends on you! How much of each ingredient you need depends on how many sandwiches you want to make. Therefore, if you're concerned about the nutritional information being accurate, I recommend calculating it yourself based on the ingredients you use.
