Air fryer peaches are one of the easiest ways to turn fresh summer fruit into a warm, caramelized treat. In about 15 minutes, you’ll have juicy peach halves with lightly golden edges, bubbling cinnamon brown sugar butter, and a texture that’s tender without falling apart.
Fresh peaches don’t need much to shine, and this recipe proves it. A little butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, a splash of vanilla, and a pinch of cardamom transform them into something that feels special with hardly any effort. They’re just as welcome spooned over ice cream as they are on top of yogurt or pancakes the next morning.
If you’re already a fan of my air fryer apples, this summery version deserves a spot on your must-make list. Pair them with a scoop of my vanilla cherry ice cream for an easy dessert, or serve them alongside my lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes for a breakfast that feels a little extra without much work.

Ingredients for Air Fryer Peaches

You only need a handful of everyday ingredients to make these peaches in the air fryer, but each one plays an important role. From choosing ripe but firm peaches to using just enough butter and warm spices, these little details are what give you caramelized edges, juicy centers, and a sauce you’ll want to spoon over every last bite.
- Peaches: The star of the show. Look for peaches that smell fragrant and give just slightly when you press near the stem. Overripe peaches tend to collapse and become mushy in the air fryer, while underripe ones won’t develop the same juicy texture or natural sweetness. Yellow peaches are my first choice because they have a sweet-tart balance that stands up beautifully to the warm spices, but white peaches work too if you prefer a sweeter, more delicate flavour. If you’re not sure what variety you’re buying, my guide to different types of peaches can help.
- Butter: Melts into the brown sugar and spices, creating the rich, bubbling glaze that coats each peach half as it cooks. I always use unsalted butter so I can control the seasoning myself. If all you have is salted butter, it’ll still work. Just skip the pinch of salt so the finished peaches don’t taste overly salty.
- Light Brown Sugar: Adds just enough sweetness while helping the peaches caramelize around the edges. The extra sprinkle on top creates those irresistible golden patches as the peaches cook. You can use dark brown sugar for a deeper, more molasses-forward flavour, but it will make the glaze slightly richer and darker.
- Cinnamon: Cinnamon and peaches are a classic pairing for a reason. It adds warmth without overpowering the fruit. If your cinnamon has been sitting in the pantry for years, now’s a good time to replace it. Fresh spices make a noticeable difference in recipes with short ingredient lists.
- Cardamom: This is the quiet ingredient that makes people ask, “What is that?” A small amount adds subtle floral, citrusy warmth that makes the peaches taste a little more special without stealing the spotlight. If cardamom isn’t your favourite, you can simply leave it out. The recipe will still be fantastic.
- Vanilla Extract: Rounds everything out and enhances the peaches’ natural sweetness. Pure vanilla extract gives the best flavour, but if imitation vanilla is what you have on hand, it’ll still do the job in a pinch.
- Salt: Don’t skip it. A tiny pinch balances the sweetness and helps all the other flavours pop. If you’re using fine table salt instead, use about half as much since it’s more concentrated.
Optional for Serving
These air fryer peaches are wonderful straight from the basket, but they’re even better with something creamy or crunchy to finish them off. Try a scoop of ice cream, a dollop of whipped cream or Greek yogurt, drizzle of caramel sauce, toasted pecans for crunch, or a few fresh mint leaves for a bright, fresh finish.

Tips for the Best Air Fryer Peaches
- Choose ripe but firm peaches. They should smell sweet and have a slight give when gently pressed. Peaches that are too soft can become mushy before the edges have a chance to caramelize.
- Use peaches that are similar in size. Evenly sized peaches cook at the same rate, so you won’t end up with some overcooked and others still too firm.
- Leave the skins on. The skin helps the peaches hold their shape while they cook and peels away easily if you prefer not to eat it.
- Don’t overcrowd the basket. Leave a little space between each peach half so the hot air can circulate properly. That’s what gives you lightly caramelized edges instead of steamed fruit.
- Check them at the 8 minute mark. Air fryers vary, and so does the ripeness of peaches. They’re ready when they’re fork tender, lightly golden around the edges, and still holding their shape.
- Serve them while they’re warm. The cinnamon brown sugar butter is at its best when it’s still bubbling, making it perfect for spooning over ice cream, yogurt, pancakes, or pound cake.

Easy Ways to Customize This Recipe
One of my favourite things about this recipe is how easy it is to make it your own. A few small tweaks can change the flavour or turn these air fryer peaches into anything from a light breakfast to an elegant dessert.
- Swap the brown sugar for maple syrup or honey. Both add a different kind of sweetness. Maple syrup brings cozy, caramel-like notes, while honey gives the peaches a lighter floral finish. If using either, reduce it slightly so the glaze doesn’t become too runny.
- Add a little crunch. Sprinkle chopped toasted pecans or walnuts over the warm peaches just before serving. The contrast between the crunchy nuts and tender fruit is hard to beat.
- Make them extra decadent. A spoonful of whipped mascarpone or vanilla bean ice cream melts beautifully over the warm peaches and turns them into a dinner-party-worthy dessert with almost no extra effort.
- Brighten the flavour. A little fresh lemon zest added after cooking wakes up all the warm cinnamon and brown sugar flavours without overpowering the peaches.
- Turn them into breakfast. Skip the ice cream and serve the peaches over Greek yogurt, oatmeal, pancakes, or waffles for a breakfast that feels special enough for a weekend brunch.
What to Serve with Air Fryer Peaches
These air fryer peaches are incredibly versatile. They’re just as welcome at brunch as they are after dinner, and they pair beautifully with everything from creamy desserts to savoury mains.
For Dessert
Warm peaches and cold, creamy toppings are always a winning combination. Serve them over a scoop of vanilla cherry ice cream, add a dollop of whipped cream, or spoon them over slices of pound cake or angel food cake. A sprinkle of toasted nuts or a drizzle of the warm cinnamon butter from the air fryer takes every bite up a notch.
For Breakfast
These peaches make an ordinary breakfast feel a little more special. Spoon them over Greek yogurt with granola, swirl them into a bowl of oatmeal, or pile them onto fluffy pancakes, french toast, or waffles. They also pair beautifully with my homemade blackberry sauce for an extra layer of fresh berry flavour.
With Savoury Dishes
Don’t save them just for sweet recipes. Their caramelized sweetness pairs surprisingly well with oven baked pork chops, roast chicken, or sliced grilled chicken breast. They also make a beautiful addition to a summer charcuterie board alongside a creamy burrata Caprese salad, crispy prosciutto, toasted no-knead bread, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze for an easy appetizer that looks as good as it tastes.
How to Store and Reheat Air Fryer Peaches
- Refrigerate: Let the peaches cool completely, then transfer them to an airtight container. They’ll keep well in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Be sure to spoon any of the cinnamon brown sugar butter over the peaches so they stay moist and flavourful.
- Reheat: Warm the peaches in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds, or pop them back into a 350°F air fryer for 2 to 3 minutes until heated through. Just don’t overheat them, or they’ll become too soft.
- Enjoy them cold: Leftover peaches are just as good straight from the fridge. Chop them up and spoon them over Greek yogurt, oatmeal, overnight oats, or cottage cheese for an easy breakfast or snack.
- Freezing isn’t recommended: While you can freeze cooked peaches, they’ll lose much of their firm texture as they thaw. This recipe is best enjoyed fresh or within a few days of making it.
